Kordel's Walkathon

Woke up 6'ish in the morning to get ready for Kordel's walkathon which was held in Taman Jaya. According to the application form, the partipants can be creative and wear any creative outfit to the walkathon, just to make things interesting.

My team which made up of G-in and Yee Siun, who also registered for 10km KL marathon, Pei Lee, the frequent visitor of Taman Jaya and myself had been thinking hard about our creative costume. We even came up with some funny funny costume so that we can block the participants behind us walking ahead of us. Anyway, we were not creative enough and it's hard to be outstanding without spending extra pennies on costume, just for today's walkathon.

At the end, we walked to Taman Jaya in a team of four wearing red shirts and dark bottoms plus a red bandana on our head. We even thought of some funny funny team names like red Santa, red Incredible girls etc, just in case we were asked about our team name.

From far before reaching the registration point, we saw a group of 4 in red tops and dark bottoms too. We were like, oh no... what a coincidence that we have 2 groups of red teams. As the other red teams walking nearer to us, G-in shouted: "Oh no, Jinn...it's Kelvin there!"

Without my glasses, I definitely couldn't see who's the other red team until G-in mentioned it. All of us were laughing. The other red team was actually the HDM lala gang!!! Well, I think there were more than 2 groups of red teams!

The walk was 3 big rounds approximate 4.5km. We knew we were there for fun and not that strong enough to win the race. We were lucky enough as the weather was really fine and the sun wasn't shinny till we finished the walk. Though registration took some time, but I think the organizer did a good job by providing nutritious Horlicks and Rebena, sandwiches, cereals and some bread. Apart from that, all of the participants got a goodies bags after the walk. It's really worth paying the money for walkathon! Though the money is going for Arthritis Foundation for charity, the goodies bag came with deodorant, 2 lotions ( save Jinnie from buying lotion), a bottle of Omega Fish Oil, health and beauty magazines and some other small samples!

Well, I'm glad that I woke up early for the walk. Not only it's healthy, but having fun with friends and got some freebies from Kordel. Heard that the goodies bag is better for KL Marathon that organized by Standard Chartered. Anyone up for 5 km fun race?
